The winter 2024 Semester is almost over! This means students will have time to relax, spend sometime away from all the books and assignments, and for most, its time to travel.
Going to a new place is amazing, its a chance to get some fun experiences, learn a a new culture and get away from all the stress that’s happening at home.
A big part of traveling is knowing what you are getting yourself into, how to stay safe and how to make the most of your trip. Many believe that all it takes is just booking flights hotels and transportation, but it is a lot more work than that. Its all about research.
“Number one would be insurance, it’s a big safety precaution. if you have insurance in that country it kind of just saves your whole trip if anything goes wrong” Ewan Dewsbury, Hospitality and tourism student at SAIT.
When doing all that research you have to think about what you need to know about the culture, security issues and most importantly how you can protect your health. There’s things that you can control but there are things you can’t, like your health and health insurance makes sure you aren’t going in 100 percent blind.
