It has been over 25 years since a Canadian team took home the prestigious Stanley Cup but this year has a little more of an optimistic feeling to it.
With 3 really good Canadian teams in the playoffs (Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs) and two of the teams being among cup favorites. The two teams that are in the cup contention talk are Conor McDavid and his Edmonton Oilers and Auston Matthews and his Toronto Maple Leafs.
Despite the Maple Leafs being famously knowing for choking in the playoffs the Leafs fan base still have their belief in the team.
The last Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup was the Montreal Canadiens they were also the last time to win the cup with a whole roster composed of all North American players.
As we near game 3’s for all teams respective first round series the belief in each team is getting stronger.
The Edmonton Oilers got a rematch with the Los Angeles Kings. The Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping to stomp their first round curse against the Tampa Bay Lightning and last but certainly not least the Winnipeg Jets are taking on the heavily favorited Vegas Golden Knights. All of the series are tied at 1 game each.

One dose of vaccine can make you thirty-three per cent effective against COVID-19. Two vaccines can make you fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Recently people with two doses have been feeling symptoms of the virus. To help fight the virus, a third booster vaccine is being offered to Albertan’s over eighteen. Underage people are not yet allowed to get the third vaccine but Alberta’s health care system has made an exception for immunocompromised youth aged between twelve and seventeen. Should Alberta’s government make it mandatory to have the third vaccine if you are over eighteen?
