Another winter has come and gone, and spring is on the horizon, and that only means one thing… exam season is ready to kick off for students at SAIT in the coming days.
Feeling confident and prepared before an exam are a few keys to success, but there are many things students have to do, in order to get their head in the game, and ace those exams.
SAIT has released some test prep and strategies that students can use to help dial in, and succeed over the next 2 weeks while exams take place.
Double checking your due dates and making sure you are studying for the right classes is a good start, as nothing good happens if a test was to come up quicker than you thought and surprise you.
Rewriting notes, creating a study guide with all learning objectives, mapping out all topics from highest priority to lowest priority are all great pre-exam strategies to train your brain to remember all those distant memories from 15 weeks ago.
“I think the biggest thing I do is look at notes I have from the last 15 weeks, I think that’s the best and obviously cramming the day before. I think they’re having a whole week and going topics is probably the best thing you can do,” says SAIT student Jadan Patel.
Once you’ve got the exam, there’s only one thing left to do, jot down some memory devices and formulas if you can, take a deep breath, remember what you can, and crush it.
It’s important to to relax and restore after your exam, set aside some time to play some games, go for a walk, or watch your favourite Netflix show to unwind and reset your brain before the next exam.
Taking these steps are key ways to have a successful exam season, and make sure you can take that long four-month summer break, without any worries of summer school.
