As of April 15th, the Calgary flames trail the St. Louis Blues by two points and the Minnesota Wild by 3 points in the race for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference.
Calgary has an opportunity to secure the final spot dependent on the two teams ahead of them losing Tuesday evening.
Calgary on the other hand must win their remaining two games against the Vegas Golden Knights and the Los Angeles Kings.
If either the Wild or Blues win in any fashion, Calgary will not be able to grab the final wild card spot.
Calgary has the chance to tie the Blues if they win their final two games.
The NHL will then look at regulation wins where Calgary will lose to St. Louis, with the Blues having four more wins than Calgary.
Flames fans are doubtful that if Calgary manages to get into the playoffs they will make it far, as the final spot in the Western Conference will face the Canadian powerhouse, the Winnipeg Jets.
