Measles Cases in Alberta on the Rise, Latest Update from AHS.

There has been a new update in regards to measles cases in Alberta according to data published from theĀ Alberta Health Services (AHS).

A total of 16 new cases has announced since April 11th (Friday), nine cases in the central Zone and seven cases in the south. Bringing to a total of 74 cases in the entirety of the province.

There have been a total of 39 cases in the central zone (includes the area between Two Hills to Drumheller, Lloydminster to Rocky Mountain House), 18 in the south, 10 in the north. Edmonton and Calgary are the least affect, 4 and 3 cases respectively.

Further data shows Alberta, Quebec and Ontario are the provinces with more than 10 cases both recorded and reported.

There has been measles outbreak around the entire world, Alberta Health Services encourages everyone to take precautions and do the necessary preventative measures including vaccinations to prevent the spread. A detailed guide is available to tackle measles on the AHS website.
