Fire in gravel plant last night in a Northwest community

A fire broke out at a gravel plant in Northwest Calgary on Monday morning.

Around 7:15 p.m., the fire station got a call from the Lafarge facility on 85 Street N.W., near the Spy Hill landfill, and arrived shortly to see some smoke coming out of the equipment at the site. The crew quickly put out the fire.

It is reported that a hopper conveyor machine had caught on fire.

The damage was limited and no one was seriously injured.
