The attack last Thursday at St. Timothy Jr./Sr. High School, which resulted in a 13-year-old Métis boy being hospitalized has left a family and community shaken. The victim is the son of a member of the Reconciliation Action Group, the organization that amplifies Indigenous voices on related issues.

The group called the attack “hate-fueled” during a Monday news release. The RCMP confirmed that all those involved in the attack were minors. The suspected attackers are said to be older teenage boys.

As the investigation is ongoing, information on the incident is limited.
