ALERT seizes over $1 million dollars worth of drugs in Edmonton

Three people have been arrested and charged in relation to a million dollar drug bust in Edmonton.

Alberta’s Emergency Response Team (ALERT) and Edmonton’s organized crime and gang team seized a total of almost 9 kilograms of cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis resin. They also seized 2 illegal handguns and $44,800 in cash.

The search took place on November 27th carried out in three homes.

Three men were arrested yesterday and charged with multiple offences, including conspiracy to traffic cocaine

  • James Jackson from Edmonton has been charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime and eight firearms-related charges.
  • Richard Comely of Leduc has been charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and production of a controlled substance.
  • Scott Doberstein from Leduc has also been charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and production of a controlled substance

ALERT’S Investigation started back in October of this year with assistance from Alberta Sheriffs, Edmonton Police, and RCMP.
