Downtown Calgary church get remembrance day makeover

Calgary, AB, Canada / RTBN

In honor of remembrance day a group of ladies spent the past year knitting poppy’s for a church in Calgary.

Until remembrance day you can find the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer decorated with over 8-thousand flowers all done by volunteers from the church with extra help from people out of province.

A total of 20-members typically make blankets for newborns but after one membered was inspired by a similar display while in the United Kingdom they decided to switch gears and do something different. Once word got out about what they were doing knitters from outside Alberta decided to send in there own hand made poppies.

The poppies look beautiful with the fresh snow fall and so far the church has gotten an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from calgarians.
