3 men face drug charges in Airdrie

Calgary, AB, Canada / RTBN

Three men are facing several drug related charges in Airdrie after an RCMP investigated a recent garage explosion.

On September 6th, emergency crews were called to the 400 block of first Avenue N.E on reports of an explosion. The explosion caused mass damage to the building, and two men were taken to the hospital in serious condition. Later a search warrant for the property revealed more than 20 kilograms of marijuana, 300 butane canes and hash oil was found on the property.

Airdrie RCMP say that although the laws surrounding marijuana possession and production will be changing started October 17th, marijuana oil extraction labs will remain illegal under the new Cannabis Act.
