Roughly 1,100 women have come forth with claims of abuse against members of the RCMP, and have begun the process of opening sexual harassment, discrimination, or intimidation claims against the organization.
So far, a total of 353 women have finalized and submitted their claims against the RCMP since the process started in August.
According to the office of Michel Bastarache, the independent assessor who will be overseeing the settlement agreement, there is no way of knowing how many of the pending files will lead to actual claims.

Harassment and discrimination claims against RCMP is not unusual, as just last year the government announced it would set aside $100 million to settle sexual harassment and discrimination claims made by female employees,
