The U-of-C partners with the Indigenous community to promote inclusion.

Today Blackfoot elders and U of C faculty and staff introduced an indigenous strategy that will lead the institution into the future with a culturally inclusive plan.

The plan is called ii’ taa’ poh’ to’ p (ee-tap-o-tope), which translates to”a place to rest, to re-energize during a journey.”

The strategy was put together by U of C staff and indigenous community members who shared their stories and ideas.

The strategy’s journey has gone through 4 stages over 2 years and was passed on from the working group to the University of Calgary in a ceremony lead by spiritual leader Dr. Reg Crowshoe, who says that┬átogether the University and indigenous community will create an environment where everyone can learn and find their own path
