The Field of Crosses located along Memorial Drive, comemmorates fallen soldiers every November.
The focus of The Field of Crosses is southern Alberta soliders who were killed in battle and it is a tradition to raise a flag every morning at sunrise in remembrance of a specific soldier.
On Wednesday morning, T.J. Stirling was the soldier of focus and was remembered as a brave solider who sadly took his own life in 2009 after suffering from PTSD due to his military service.
Stirlings friends and family remembers his as a loving family man and the life of the party.
Along with the flag raising ceremonies, there’s a flag lowering ceremony everyday until remembrance day at sunset.
